Travel to Hotel Hierzegger

Our Tauplitzalm Alpine Road from Bad Mitterndorf treats travelers to marvelous panoramic views. Because it is plowed regularly and very well maintained, the toll road is almost always drivable in winter.

Alternatively, a public bus also runs from Bad Mitterndorf up to the Tauplitzalm.

You will drive up from Bad Mitterndorf via the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road.
If you arrive after 5 p.m. and the toll station is no longer staffed, simply buy a ticket from the self-service machine. After you have driven up the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road, you will come to a big car park from where a private lane leads to the various businesses.
In order to open the gate, you will need to enter a code. Phone us just before you get here and we will give you the code (the code is changed from time to time).
With the gate open, you can drive all the way up to the hotel and park for free for the duration of your stay.

You will drive up from Bad Mitterndorf via the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road. At the end of the road are two big car parks, where a parking attendant will direct you to a parking space. Then go ahead and phone us and we will come pick you up.  Please note that, if you need to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., there might be a delay. Also important to know: the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road ends at 1600 m above sea level. That said, snow chains might be required, with the possible exception of four-wheel-drive vehicles.

Pulling up to the hotel on a skidoo or Snowcat taxi, you are about to begin a truly extraordinary holiday.
Up here at the "Alm", the clocks seem to tick a little differently. Slower, more attentively. In time with nature itself. You'll soon see for yourself!
