At 1650 meters above sea level, the clocks tick a little slower. In time with the rhythm of Mother Nature. Car-free during the winter months, the Tauplitzalm is a pristine, self-contained mountain world that exudes extraordinary energy.
An absolute dream for everyone who loves to stay in a natural setting in the heart of the ski area.
Though not to worry, boredom will never be an issue! Despite nature in abundance, the Tauplitz is actually the biggest single ski area in Styria. Here, every skier and snowboarder is certain to find a piste destined to become their personal favorite, along with a friendly alpine chalet to celebrate yet another glorious day on the slopes.
The ski mountains of the Tauplitz boast some of the most reliable snow conditions in all of the Alps. With the added support of modern snowmakers, winter season lasts until Easter. 43 kilometers of pistes in total, sunny and perfectly groomed. A similar number of routes in open ski terrain, plus broad runs that leave you plenty of room to enjoy those beautiful, broad carving turns to the fullest.
Almost all winter sports fans swing right past our Hotel Hierzegger several times a day. The youngsters, especially, find our uncrowded location particularly pleasant and safe. Meanwhile, the ski school is just 200 meters from the hotel.
We will be happy to issue you a ski pass (valid for 1 day or longer) right here at our hotel. You will pay for it at the end of your stay along with your room bill. Fortunately, the ski pass prices for the Tauplitz lifts continue to be comparatively affordable despite the high energy costs. For even cheaper ski passes, we suggest considering one of our holiday packages with ski pass.
The alpine cross-country trails at the Tauplitzalm, 15 km tracked for classic and 15 km for "skating" technique, are perfectly maintained and lead you through beautiful countryside quite beyond compare. Whilst laid-back skiers glide at their leisure through the snowy mountain village and surrounding larch forests, hobby athletes and world champs in the making get in some "serious" training at the "Alm".
At the Tauplitzalm, everybody finds their own piece of heaven - so, how about you?
