Summer on the Tauplitzalm
The "6 Lakes Hike" on the highest lake plateau in Central Europe is the highlight of the Tauplitzalm. Nicely maintained footpaths and hiking trails lead to picturesque alpine tarns, with no major elevation gains to contend with and stages taking as little as 1 hour to complete. Meanwhile, the Gamsblick via ferrata and numerous alpine tours are very much the reserve of more experienced mountaineers and the chamois.
As local hoteliers, we know all of the walks and hikes, from casual to alpine. That said, we are happy to share a few personal tips with you as you go about selecting your tour.
Winter on the Tauplitzalm
At 1600 m above sea level, the clocks seem to tick a little slower, in time to the rhythms of nature itself. The Tauplitzalm, which is car-free in winter, is a self-contained mountain world that radiates astonishing primal energy. An absolute dream for everyone who loves to stay amid nature and in the heart of the ski area. But not to worry, boredom will never be a factor! As natural as it is, the snowy Tauplitz is simultaneously the biggest individual ski area in Styria.
Here, skiers and snowboarders all find the piste destined to become their personal favorite, along with perfect opportunities for refreshments and great après-ski experiences.

The hotel’s very own “tractor train” is great fun for the kids, a wonderful way for adults to unwind, and a welcome alternative for people who aren’t able to hike due to health reasons.
